Weekend Fun!

So this weekend we had a couple of things planned.  Tiff and Jared told us that Samantha was going to perform at half time for the BYU girls gymnastics meet on friday night and so we decided that we really wanted to got and watch her. So on friday I went out to Tiff and Jareds and spent the afternoon with her and her girls. It was a lot of fun. I got to do Sams hair for her gymnastics meet that night and I must say that it turned out so cute. Of course I dont have pictures because as always I forget my camera, but Tiff said that she would post some, so you will have to check out her blog. So, that night we went to the marriot center and watched gymnastics and Sam perform. She was so awesome! They were totally the hit of the night. Atleast for us. I am so glad that we got to go and see her perform!

Saturday night we had some friends over for a game night and that was really fun. It was pretty low key, but we played games and had some food. It was some of my old friends from highschool so that was kind of fun to get to see them again and see what they are up too.  It was nice to have people over. Overall it was a really great weekend!

We thank thee oh God for our prophet President Gordon B. Hinckley

Well, last sunday night the news came as a shock that President Gordon B. Hinckley had died. When I heard this I was so sad and so overjoyed at the same time. I was sad because he has been the prophet of my youth, a beacon of light and a source of comfort to me. His words of love, counsel and wisdom always made me want to try and do better. I was so happy for him though, he is able to go and see the Savior and his sweet wife. Can you imagine what a reunion that must have been? I bet when he saw them he was flooded with overwhelming joy and happiness. The amazing thing about our prophet was that everywhere he went he was loved and respected by everyone. He was a true disciple of christ and an amazing example of someone living the gospel fully in their life. I know that he was a true prophet of god.
I just want to recap a memory of him that I have so that I will never forget it, not that I could but just in case here it is.When I was about 15 we had a ward temple and service day before we went on a stake trek. The day of the temple trip they took us to the Salt Lake City temple
to do baptisms for the dead. As we had just gotten dressed we walked out and all of a sudden you see President Hinckley and the quorum of the twelve walking through the hall in the temple. I remember seeing him and my eyes just welling with tears and feeling like my heart was going to burst. His spirit was so strong. You just felt warm and happy inside and so grateful to be in that
place at that time. You knew that he was a true prophet of God. He told us that day that we were doing the Lords work and to keep going and that he was proud of us for being in the temple that day. What an amazing day that was! We also were very lucky to be able to go the the church office building and have Elder Neal A .Maxwell speak to us too. Definitely a great day!

I just want to say thank you to a wonderful amazing man! He will always be in my heart. I love this man and Iam so grateful to have had the opportunity to know him as my prophet.
